Narayanganj College stands raising its head with the touch of gentle breeze of Shitalakhaya river at the heart of long-established Narayanganj city. Here the honours course for Bengali department was run in 2006. The department was inaugurated by the brave freedom fighter, the Member of Parliament A.K.M Selim Osman on 22 March, 2015. With the guidance of the expert teachers, the students of Bengali department have been making creditable results every year.
During the establishment period, the head of Bengali department was Professor Rashida Akter. Now, the head of department is Sayeda Merina Akter. Besides, Jannatul Kanan Boni, Rabeya Yesmin and Sazzad Hossain are the other reputed teachers of the department.
Though the department started its activity with only two students, now it has a vast circumference. As future goal, the department will reach the apex of prosperity by arranging effective study tour and seminar recurrently.
